The player can participate in a variety of heists including, but not limited to, robberies of banks, shops, and armored vehicles, as well as the production and distribution of narcotics. The player takes control of one of the twenty-two gang members and can perform heists alone or with up to three teammates. Two years after the events of the previous game, the Payday gang arrives in the Washington metro area to carry out a new wave of heists.
